Mountains Were Made For Climbing

 By J.D. Moss

Ain’t nothing going to keep me down Lord,

ain’t nothing going to keep me down.

I’m going to climb that old mountain or tear it down.

Mountains were made for climbing and life is just the same.

ain’t nothing going to keep me down Lord,

not clouds, nor thunder, nor rain.

When I was just a baby life came tumbling down.

It tried to defeat me and would not let me go around.

But the Lord he was with me, indeed I was blessed.

First he gave me courage, then peace, then rest.

When I was fifteen I thought my life was through.

I hated what I was becoming, indeed I was a fool (fag).

I tried to end my life ‘cause I saw no need to live.

That was before I loved myself and found I had much to give.

Now when I find myself feeling low or depressed.

I build up my courage I don’t give me time to rest.

I just think of the rainbow that I can have in hand.

So even if I stumble and fall, I’ll try until I stand.
